Measuring Clothing
As a general rule Japanese sizes run small
compared to American sizes. Precise measurements
will ensure the best fit.
KEIKO GI: Measure around the chest and waist
HAKAMA: Measure around the waist. For men measure
from the navel to a point in line with the ankles.
Women generally wear their hakama higher on the body
so measure about midway between the waist and breast
to a point in line with the ankles.
TABI: Use standard U.S. shoe measurements
KIMONO: Measure around the chest and waist.
Measure sleeve length from the middle of the back
to the wrist of outstretched arm
